A Dog in Desperate Need of Help
When the Southern Animal Foundation received a call about a severely malnourished dog in New Orleans, they rushed to help. The Weimaraner mix, now named Alex, was barely moving and on the brink of starvation. He was taken to Vermilion Parish’s Rabies Animal Control for care. X-rays revealed that Alex had been eating rocks and twigs to survive, a heartbreaking discovery.
Fortunately, Alex’s suffering ended, and he began receiving the care he needed to recover.
Alex’s New Family
During his recovery, Alex was fostered by Diane Lundeen. Initially, she thought it would be temporary, but their bond grew, and she decided to adopt him. Alex’s transformation was remarkable; his weight increased, and he became a happy, playful dog.
The best part is Alex now enjoys his days with his new doggie siblings, showcasing his wonderful personality. It’s heartwarming to see a starving dog receive the help he needed and thrive in his new, loving home.
In the end, everything turned out well for Alex, and he is now enjoying every moment with his new family.
