There is perhaps nothing sadder than seeing a small puppy alone, suffering, and without a home. Unfortunately, this is a recurring theme, with many dogs in the world being abandoned or lost.
According to the World Animal Foundation, there are around two hundred million stray dogs worldwide. Even though this number is an estimate and the actual number might be higher, it remains alarming.
This dog’s story didn’t start out much differently.
Alone and Frightened

Two women found this poor puppy alone, laying in the middle of the road, sleeping, and almost stomped on by passersby. It was clear she was malnourished and weak. Her skin was dry and infected, with a risk of developing mange.
She was rushed to a vet for a full checkup and treatment. Luckily, her condition was not too serious, and she would recover in a few weeks. The veterinarians decided to keep her at the clinic until she recovered.
Quick Recovery

After just a day, she was already starting to feel better. She had quite an appetite and loved to play in the yard. She also began staying with other stray dogs at the clinic and was slowly making new friends.
Soon after, she was taken to a shelter to wait for someone to take her to a new and loving home. Given how adorable and playful she is, it’s likely she has already found a loving family.
Despite the depressing statistics regarding stray dogs, simple acts of kindness from people can make a significant difference. A heart in the right place can change a small and helpless puppy’s life.
