How can anyone resist a dog’s smile or their wiggly, happy tail? Simply put, you can’t! Neither could the kind rescuers who found Professor Plum, an abandoned Pittie mix tied to a tree in St. Louis, Missouri. With his unfortunate past behind him, this sweet dog couldn’t hide his joy as he realized his life was finally changing for the better.
The Moment of Pure Happiness
Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Missouri, known for their heartwarming dog rescue stories, faced another challenging situation in March 2024. They received a call about a dog left tied to a tree in the city and immediately rushed to the scene.
When they arrived, expecting another difficult rescue, they were amazed by the dog’s reaction. “This pup was tied up outside. As we approached him, he seemed to say ‘oh thank goodness, yes come help me! I’m all by myself! I’m just a baby boy!’,” the rescue team wrote on Facebook.
No more than a year and a half old, the Pittie was still a puppy in need of help. When help arrived, he didn’t shy away, showing how happy he was to be rescued. He instantly warmed up to his rescuers, giving them the gentlest look and the most enthusiastic tail wag.
Here Comes a Shocking Twist
The most amazing thing happened just hours after the dog’s rescue. Professor Plum, as he was later named, got a foster home on the very same day he was rescued! After his evaluation, he was cleared for foster care, which happened within just hours.
When he arrived at his new foster home, there was a delightful surprise.
Unexpectedly, he reunited with his foster mom from his puppy days. Barb Kumar had cared for him and his sister when they were just a few weeks old. Now, they had the chance to meet again in a heartwarming reunion filled with kisses and cuddles. This time, instead of his sister, he had two other foster siblings waiting for him.
The entire family welcomed this Pittie with open arms, and he couldn’t be happier. After enduring so much, Professor Plum was finally safe, with endless adventures ahead of him.
He’s currently meeting potential new owners, and it’s only a matter of time before this friendly boy finds his place in a cozy home. I’m absolutely positive that he will soon be part of a loving family!
