Suzette Hall, the founder of the California-based rescue organization Logan’s Legacy 29, often receives calls about stray dogs wandering the streets of Southern California. However, one call was different. A Good Samaritan reported finding three inseparable pups on an abandoned property in Compton.
Help is on the Way

Hall knew rescuing these pups would be challenging. Catching one scared pup is hard enough, let alone three. She immediately started planning, understanding she was their only hope. “It was beyond heartbreaking to see. They are all so tiny,” Hall wrote on Facebook.
Unfortunately, mechanical issues with her rescue van delayed Hall’s mission for a few days. In the meantime, her friend Mary Nakiso visited the pups every evening, bringing them nutritious food to keep them healthy while they waited for rescue.

The Rescue Mission Begins
When Hall finally arrived, she was amazed at the loyalty the pups showed to each other. “They were so scared, but they had each other. And boy, do they love each other,” Hall noted.
Hall kept her distance to avoid scaring the pups, speaking to them in a sweet, soothing tone to reassure them. She quickly captured the smallest pup, Oscar, while Nakiso gained the trust of the middle pup, Jolene. Both were soon safe in Hall’s van.
“The little girl loved Mary so much, and Mary was able to get her,” Hall wrote.
With Oscar and Jolene secured, Hall and Nakiso returned for their older brother, Ollie. Ollie, however, was too scared and retreated into the garage.
The Second Attempt
Hall and Nakiso decided to give Ollie some space while they took Oscar and Jolene to the Camino Pet Hospital. Later that evening, Hall returned to the property with a humane trap, hoping Ollie would enter it on his own.

The next morning, Hall was overjoyed to find Ollie patiently sitting in the trap. She immediately drove him to the vet hospital, where he was reunited with his siblings. “They were all so scared. So cold, so hungry. But they were finally all safe. They had each other again,” Hall wrote.

A New Beginning
The trio received thorough checkups at the hospital before heading to their foster home with Hall’s friend, Genavie Ochoa. Ochoa offered to take in all three pups to ensure they wouldn’t be separated. While Ollie still struggles to trust humans, Oscar and Jolene are quickly adapting to their new life as house dogs.
“Ollie is so scared, but the other two are so sweet and love belly rubs. These poor babies went through so much,” Hall told The Dodo.
@_genavie_ These sweet little babies 😫 I’m trying so hard to make friends with the other one. He’s just gonna need some more time and that’s ok. They were rescued from an abandoned house in Compton. Someone left these three little babies to fend for themselves. They’re literally so tiny! If you’re interested in adopting or fostering this Chihuahua family, they’ll be with Logan‘s Legacy 29. ##dog##dogs##rescue##puppies##Chihuahua##fyp##cuties##love ♬ original sound – Genavie
The Road to Recovery
Although Ollie, Jolene, and Oscar have yet to find their forever home, they are receiving all the love and attention they need from their foster family. “I’m sure they haven’t slept this good in a long time. They are rescued and have each other,” Hall concluded.
The journey for these three sweet pups is far from over, but their future looks bright with the promise of love, safety, and a forever home where they can finally relax and live the lives they deserve.
